Dr. Amir Moarefi is a fellowship-trained and board-certified ophthalmologist. His focus encompasses cataract surgery, laser vision correction (including LASIK, PRK, and SMILE), keratoconus treatment, and anterior segment procedures such as glaucoma, pterygium, and eyelid surgeries.
After earning his Doctor of Medicine from Chicago Medical School, along with two Master’s degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Healthcare Management & Administration, Dr. Moarefi completed his medical internship at UC Irvine Medical Center and the Long Beach Veterans’ Hospital. He then pursued his ophthalmology residency at Case Western University – University Hospitals. His education culminated in a prestigious fellowship at the Cleveland Eye Clinic, widely regarded as the nation’s top program for refractive surgery. This specialized training focused on cataract surgery, advanced-technology lens implants, implantable contact lenses (ICL), and clear lens exchange procedures.

An avid traveler, he has visited over 85 countries and lived in various continents, combining his medical expertise with volunteer work and cultural immersion.
